Patricia Jane Stover
The author is a retired clergy and ordained Elder in the Virginia Conference of the United Methodist Church, currently living in the greater Richmond area. She has a B.S. degree from James Madison University. Through Philip Morris Inc. and Dr. Charles Dawson at Columbia University, she became a research biochemist, and later entered the Master of Fine Art (MFA) School in poetry at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). She was a biochemist in the Human Genetics Department at the former Medical College of Virginia, which is now the VCU Medical College. She was a research biochemist at A. H. Robins, and later became the State Immigration Specialist for the Commonwealth managing Federal grants. She also worked in the Commonwealth’s Department of Education Special Education for several years. She completed The Course of Study at Duke University Divinity School and advance studies. Further she completed Chaplains training at Wake Forest Winston-Salem Baptist Hospital. As a Pastor, she served churches in Madison, Patrick, Franklin and Henry counties and served for four years on Tangier Island, all are located in Virginia. Rev. Stover has two adult children and a granddaughter. Some of her favorite things to do besides reading and writing are being in nature, gardening, knitting and crocheting, sketching, painting with watercolors and acrylics, and keeping up with family and friends. She has published feature articles and devotions for several local newspapers. Also, several of her poems were published. This is her first book.
